Gallery Night
About the Event
Valley Junction’s galleries come together to showcase new artwork by regional, national, and international artists during our annual Spring Gallery Night. This event is free and open to the public.
Gallery Night has grown into a popular community event. It is one of the largest merchant events in Historic Valley Junction and a terrific opportunity to rediscover this eclectic shopping district. The galleries of Historic Valley Junction offer original artwork, custom jewelry, ceramics, glass, furniture, folk art, and fine art reproductions, as well as many other one-of-a-kind objects. Gallery Night supports many locally owned businesses and showcases the community of Historic Valley Junction.
In addition to the galleries, many other Valley Junction shops and restaurants will be open for business.

Kavanaugh Art Gallery | 228 5th St.
After a lifetime of collecting for the pure joy of it, Dan and Carole Kavanaugh (Carole passed away in 2017) have been offering a wide variety of quality fine art and on-site, custom framing to the general public, the corporate community and collectors as a labor of love since 1989. They pride themselves on having the sort of extraordinary fine arts gallery and frame shop that you might expect to find on one of the coasts nestled in the heart of Iowa.
Kavanaugh Gallery has an exceptional collection of fine art from around the world showcasing original paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel and mixed media. The Gallery is also home to an extensive selection of sculpture, limited edition prints, Giclée’s, and serigraphs, as well as antique and reproduction prints and posters, including early works on paper.
Kunzler Studios & Art Gallery | 324 5th St.
Kunzler Studios, a family art venture, was formed in May of 2013 when we registered with the great state of Iowa Kunzler Studios, LLC. Its members consist of Diane Blair Kunzler, Kelly Kunzler, Kendall Kunzler Lensch, and Mike Kunzler. How’d we come up with such a cool name as Kunzler Studios, you may be asking yourself? Kunzler is a German surname meaning Artist. Studios are rooms where artists do work. You do the math.
Olson-Larsen Galleries | 120 5th St., Ste C
Join us on Gallery Night for a mini solo show featuring local artist, Levi Robb. As a multidisciplinary artist, Robb’s work explores the domestication and depletion of wildness of the landscape over time. See his “Sacred Landscape” monoprint series that incorporates Icelandic black sand as a textural element in abstract compositions. Robb was a 2020 Iowa Arts Council Fellowship recipient. His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in both public and private collections.
