Information from Public Meetings
May 3, 2021: The City Council will hold a workshop on development in Valley Junction following the Council’s regular meeting. Individuals who wish to attend the meeting are recommended to be in the Council chamber by 5:30 when the regular meeting starts because the workshop will take place immediately afterward.

April 19, 2021: The West Des Moines City Council formally adopted a temporary moratorium concerning development in the Historic Valley Junction Business District. When adopted, the moratorium was set to expire on May 3.
April 5, 2021: Amid resident concerns over the pace and type of development occurring in the neighborhood, the West Des Moines City Council discussed a temporary moratorium on development in the Valley Junction neighborhood and city staff presented a framework for future meetings on development issues.
